Understanding the Impact

Cultivating Jewish Knowledge — Expanding Community — Benefitting Organizations

1. Cultivates Deep Jewish Knowledge

Jewish After Schools provide deep Jewish learning through a curriculum designed specifically for the unique after school learning environment.

Students in JASA Schools learn…

  • Jewish Values

  • Jewish Holidays

  • Jewish History

  • Global Jewish Cultures

  • Torah and Jewish Texts

  • Hebrew

  • Tefilah/Prayer

  • Israel

and more.

Engaging with Jewish content every day, builds strong Jewish identities on a firm foundation of knowledge and experience.

2. Builds and Expands Community

Brings Judaism to New Families:

Jewish After Schools engage different families by working directly with local schools, government, PTA, and youth organizations. The combination of transportation, daily child care, and high-quality Jewish experiences and education for grade school children is attractive to many families that are not currently enrolled in religious school, and are not members of a synagogue.

Creates Community:

Jewish After Schools create community by connecting local Jewish families to each other. Students from many different schools can attend the same Jewish After School program, giving kids a whole new community of Jewish kids to play with right in their own neighborhood! Friendships are nurtured through intentional community building activities, collaborative learning, and plain old fun!

3. Benefits Organizations

Increase Engagement and Membership:

Jewish After Schools reach families that are not yet engaged in the Jewish community. By developing strong relationships with local schools, PTAs, and community organizations and meeting the growing need for childcare after school, Jewish After Schools naturally develop new relationships and expose new families to Jewish experiences.

Increase Visibility:

Your organization will thrive as you nurture and grow relationships with local partners, schools, organizations, and government. With new community relationships come opportunities for visibility in local events and programs, expanded partnerships, and collaboration projects.

Add a New Revenue Stream:

The Accelerator makes Jewish After School programs financially sustainable with no need for philanthropic support after the initial start up investment. Create a reliable new mission-driven revenue stream that will add to the impact of your organization.

4. National Trends say NOW is the perfect time

National trends point to the changing needs of the modern family, the changing landscape of Jewish engagement, and the growing need for innovation in Jewish education.

Right now is the perfect time to start a Jewish After School program at your organization.
